Investment contribution

The investment contribution was adopted under the Finance Act of 2011 and is, in connection with investments in new ships, an alternative to increasing the subsidy which Greenland’s government pays for the service contract for shipping goods to settlements.

The investment contribution takes effect from February 1st 2011 and the charge is 3.1 per cent on all cargo that is carried by Royal Arctic Line as well as on Royal Arctic Line’s transatlantic and coastal traffic.
